They were playing some practice games with Dunleavy. Jordan would make some great passes to people he found open. Dunleavy got pissed cus he wasn't doing the play that was drawn up.

Will Dickau make us forget Eric Piatkowski? This does seem like the kind of guy the Clippers always used find.

Dunleavy is why the season sucked last year. His obsession with getting his son though he tried to deny it and his year and a half abuse of Maggette who deserved and deserves much better. Between that and the genius Korelev pick ya gotta wonder.

MDSr did try to get his son. Sterling told a friend of mine that he wouldn't let MDSr do that.

Raymond, more like we were happy with the team we had until Elton went down, then it was a frenzied grab at whoever who was left. We ended up Knight, Ruben, and Dickau which aren't bad at all for desperation moves especially considering how the other LA team faired this offseason.

people people, you r so in love with jared jordan, i saw him in summer league play, he didnt seem that great. He cant shoot, he can def pass but he is just a whatever player, at least from what i watched. I personally love dickau and think, given playing time, he can help us and can make an impact.the kid can shoot, pass, and is a competitor

i saw both of them play pickup ball at ucla. They both cant play a lick of defense, but dickau right now seems like the better nba player. Jordan might turn out to be better player down the road, but right now he still cant shoot at all im pretty sure i saw at least one airball from him. Dickau on the other hand even tho he is not the quickest guy, he really knows how to get the ball to his guys and it seemed like he made every open jumpshot

Jordan has a great passing ability, that no-one or not many people have. I saw him make passes nash couldn't make.

If you're better than everyone else in 1 trait, you don't always have to be good at others (Dennis Rodman).

Jordan gives us some hope. Who knows what he'll be like. We do know Dickau won't make much of a difference with the Clippers.
We have enough people to score. When I saw Jordan play in the summer league, he always found an open guy under the basket.
On his defense, needs some work, but anyone is going to look bad against Brooks in the summer league.

SL14 looks great in that video. With taht range of motion already, he will more than likely be on the court by March.

Even though I am quite pessimistic about this upcoming season, I can not wait till the season starts. I love watching the clippers, nevermind the fact that I have shortened my lifespan by 10 years.

Coach says Knight is still not in shape

Mike Dunleavy relegates the veteran to the sideline for most full-court drills at start of camp. Knight says he's not concerned and will be ready.

SANTA BARBARA -- Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said he was disappointed in the initial physical shape of veteran point guard Brevin Knight but added he showed improvement in Thursday's practice.

Knight, who played with the Charlotte Bobcats last season and is regularly among the league leaders in assists, was relegated to the sideline for most full-court drills in the first two days of training camp here.

"He came in and we started running and he wasn't ready for it," Dunleavy said. "I'm disappointed in his conditioning. A veteran player, you'd think he'd come into camp ready to go.

"I hit him pretty hard yesterday and I think he knows I wasn't happy with it."

Knight, 5 feet 10 and 170 pounds, signed a two-year deal with the Clippers this summer.

He is expected to provide valuable backup minutes to starter Sam Cassell, who turns 38 next month, and guide an up-tempo-styled second unit.

Knight, who attended Stanford, went through a full practice Thursday. He said he had personal matters to attend to in the days leading to camp and also has hamstring tightness.

"I'm not concerned," he said. "I worked hard and had some things I had to take care of the last week and didn't do as much as I would have liked.

"When it's time to play, if I'm not ready to play, then we'll have a problem," Knight said.

Players aren't expected to be at the highest level of conditioning entering camp but should be on par with the rest of the team, Dunleavy said.

"I like the things he can do, but he needs to be ready to play in order to do it," Dunleavy said.

Point guard Dan Dickau can already relate to one of his new teammates.

Unfortunately for him, it's because of a familiar injury.

Dickau, a five-year veteran signed after being waived by the New York Knicks, ruptured his Achilles' tendon two years ago -- similar to the injury suffered by Elton Brand. It took Dickau about 10 months to completely recover.

"I talked to him for a quick second right before practice and said, 'Hey, I went through the same thing and I feel great now,' " Dickau said. "I'm sure as the season gets on and we get a chance to sit down and talk, I'll probably share the experiences I had with him. The one thing is, you don't want to push it too fast, but there's no reason you can't come back 100% from it."

Hall of Famer and former Lakers general manager Jerry West visited the Clippers' training camp. West is recuperating from a recent incident in which his golf cart tipped over and he was pinned underneath for about 15 minutes. . . . Cassell (sore left knee) did not practice. . . . Chris Kaman (lower back) is still listed as day to day.

Dan Dickau? Seriously guys, we were one bad 3 from the western conference finals, and now we're debating the merits of Dan Dickau. We deserve better, but we won't get it.

Gonna be a rough year.

On a positive note, the Clippers have a decent ranking in NBA Live 2008. Kamen is actually a decent center in the video game. The clippers were 4-2 when I was playing with them last night.

Clippers' Maggette Ready For Bigger Role

The forward is healthy and knows he'll be counted on to score more with Brand injured.

he road is finally clear for Corey Maggette.

There are no lingering injuries. He's healthy.

No debate about him coming off the bench. He's starting.

And no doubt the Clippers need him to score. They do -- and in bundles.

While the team looks to find an identity as it combats injuries to key players, Maggette will be looked to as a key piece in the puzzle.

Toward the end of last season, he turned into a scorer and playmaker, a role the Clippers want him to fill again this season.

And it's a role Maggette, a forward, is ready to embrace.

"I'm in better shape than I was in any year," he said. "It's a mind-set to just dominate whenever I can. We need that for this team."

Last season, Maggette's role changed to being more of a scorer off the bench to a starter. Quinton Ross frequently started because of his defensive prowess.

Maggette averaged 16.9 points and 5.9 rebounds in 75 games, starting 31 of them.

Ross will still get his minutes, but Maggette will be asked to pick up some of the scoring lost because of the prolonged absence of Elton Brand.

"I'm definitely ready to help this team," Maggette said. "You got to pick up the slack because of the circumstances."

Over the summer, Maggette had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee for an injury that hindered him since December. Then he started hitting the gym, taking 700 shots twice a day while working on different ways to find himself the best shot.

Trade rumors have followed Maggette the last few years and probably will continue as he can opt out of his contract at the end of the season. But he said his focus is only on the court.

"The rumors have been happening for the last two or three years," he said. "At the end of the day, I look at it like this: If it is going to happen, it's going to happen. At the end of the day, it's out of my control."

"It's a great win for our school and for our football program," said Knight, who brought his Cardinal warm-ups to Sunday's practice after Stanford's 24-23 upset victory over USC on Saturday. "Of course, I'm down here in L.A. now, but in that moment I'm a Stanford fan."

"On the fourth and 20, I was hollering, I thought they were going to kick me out my building," he said. "The fourth and goal, I hollered a little bit louder and I thought the cops were going to come. It was fun though. I had just wanted them to cover the spread."

Sorry if this has been asked but I've heard somewhere that those of us with DirecTV NBA League Pass can now watch games on the internet. Does anyone know anything about this?

Not sure about DirecTV but for $120 you can buy a slingbox and watch your home television's programming on the internet, or anywhere you may be. It's an unreal device. A friend of mine just set one up here and he's watching american programming in Australia.

Far as I can tell, none of the Clipper preseason games are televised anywhere. Is that true?
