Mike Smith is a total idiot. He just stated after Q Ross made a shot how great Q Ross is and how he hits such a high percentage of shots. HE'S SHOOTING LIKE 38 percent for the year!

Way too many minutes for Thomas. Not enough for Thornton. The usual poor coaching by Dunceleavy. Thornton needs 25 minutes minimum. It's not like they would be breaking up anything good by playing him more. What a joke.

Richie Frahm had a solid night, that was something. We are doomed until we have a point guard who can create opportunities.

Season ticket holder home sick tonight and now relapsing. Before actual game comments..three Lawler/Smith gems that have to be mentioned.

Lawler on Q.Ross: "there is never a game where this guy hurts you". Really? How about every game.

Smith commenting on Chris Bosh: "tonight he is like Greg Maddux when he doesn't have his 95 MPH fastball". What? He has never had a 95 MPH fastball.

Smith on Clipper strategy: "they like to set Tim Thomas up for a 3 here because teams forget that he can hit it? What? What else can he do that teams might even be remotely considering?

Now onto the game. 3rd quarter, we've scored like 2 points in the past hour, and are down 9, our backcourt is Dickau and Ross, Toronto is on pace for 84 points at this moment, so clearly shutting them down hasn't been an issue. So why the F**k is Ross in the game? Why not try something different like maybe Corey at SG and Thornton at the SF? Bring something different please, you aren't coming back with that backcourt.

Calderon's layup, the key play of the game with 16 seconds to go...he barely beats Dickau, by a 1/2 step and takes it to the basket, where one would expect to find the league's #3 shot-blocker and rebounder, correct? WRONG!!!! Coach I'm dumber than S**t has him on the bench. Incredible.

I caught the 4th quarter of this game on League Pass, and I'm confused. I thought you were required to play NBA players in a regular season game.

That was some weird, weird stuff. The banked in 3pt shot from TT, especially. And Richie Frahm was his usual "en fuego" self.

Dunno how you guys were keeping it close.

But will Kevin please explain to me why Al Thornton isn't getting more run?

Is there really a delusion that you have to win games because you're going to make a playoff run when Brand gets back?

Since a few more losses aren't going to hurt you, why not get Thornton some experience?

Lonnie your comments are dead on. It is nice to see someone with some common sense posting on this blog. Other than the great posts of Kevin, of course. I heard those same gems from Ralph and Mike and just started laughing. The Q Ross gem from Lawler came right after Smith said how Ross hits at such a high percentage. Total brain miscue by Smith because he knows how low Ross's percentage is right now. I was cracking up at the Maddux reference too. Maddux never broke 90 in his life. I think he was 87-88 in his prime on a non-juiced radar gun. Maddux was great because of his control and movement, not velocity.

I was thinking the same thing regarding Maggette and Thornton. Why can't they be out there at the same time. Put Corey at the SG and Thornton at SF. But no, Dunleavy must play Ross even though there was no one on Toronto who qualified for the "stopper" treatment. Thus, Ross chased that Jason Kapono around. Yikes.

BTW, this wasn't meant to be critical of Ralph and Mike who I genuinely like, but those comments last night were just too much. But they are over the top on the ability of Q. Ross who to this observer is at best in the bottom 5% of players in the entire league and worthy of no more than a 10th player role.
