Dissecting the Side-Screen-Roll since 2006...

- Bill Simmons delivers his long-awaited love letter to the Clips today. It's the front story on ESPN.com.
- Few ballers have upped their value during the second half of the season more than Vlad Radmanovic. What I didn't realize until reading Chris Sheridan today is that Vlad surrendered his Larry Bird rights when he accepted the trade from Seattle, which means that he's eligible only for the midlevel exception - not the crazy money the Sonics offered him last year. I've got to assume that this increases the possibility that he'll be back with the Clips next year - though Elgin may want to use that mid-level to secure Cassell, assuming Sam would settle for $5 million.
- In the Sacramento Bee this morning, Joe Davidson swoons over Elton Brand, ubermensch. It's a nice piece. The Bee, in their preview capsule of tonight's game, highlights the EB-Kenny Thomas battle in the post as the key matchup. Assuming Shaun gets the start tonight, I'd choose Livingston-Bibby as mine. Though I wouldn't be surprised if Dunleavy starts Cassell and Ross, assigning Ross to Bibby, then using Livingston in the second unit on Bibby.
- Why don't we do this: rather than rewarding the team that tanks its final week of games, let's say that the winner of the Clips-Memphis game at Fed-Ex Forum draws Denver and the loser gets the Mavs in Dallas.
