Was not looking good mid way in the 2nd, but a great 2nd half, Josh Powell continues to improve. Good to see CM & CK back, but Maggs had a few minutes 1n the 2nd that were forgettable.

Clippers came back in the 3rd and 4th quater without Dunleavy. I've never seen a box score like that for the Clippers in the last few years. This just proves how useless Dunleavy is.

I don't know how to comment on that except to say that either programprint doesn't benefit from having a memory or that he's an idiot. I'll let him decide which would be more flattering.

I suspect utter simplicity/stupidity are responsible for many of the takes round these parts. So don't take it personally.

The Clippers are better than the Knicks even without EB seems to be the more appropriate take.

1.Dunleavy took the Clips to Game 7 of round 2.
2.The team plays good team defense.
3.The team is decimated by injuries.

Is he perfect? No. Excuses? No. He is well respected around the league. Give him a break. Judge him when he has a full complement of players to use.

Even if you think he did a good job taking them to Game 7 of round 2, he's not doing the job NOW!
Just because a coach did good one year, doesn't give him a lifetime exemption. Sometimes a coach just can't get the team motivated anymore. Good coaches get fired sometimes when the fit isn't right. Pat Riley and the Lakers is a good example.

But, I don't think Dunleavy ever did a good job.

OK, so this was the Knicks but we looked awful against Minny in the second half.

There is no doubt that Dunleavy is way past his expiration date with the Clippers and postponing the inevitable simply means the Clippers aren't gonna go anywhere for that much longer.

People need to realize that the Clippers were good 2 years ago in spite of Dunleavy not because of him. That was Sammy C. taking the reigns and guiding this team to its best finish ever (and securing Dunleavy a fat contract he should've never gotten in the first place).

The Clips could clear some cap room [though I urge them not to spend it on the Westside Rentals loon], and rid Staples of his once-endearing, but increasingly tiresome shtick. As I told Abbott this morning, I'd trade Darrell Bailey for a deli spread and three cubic liters of pre-jump-ball talc.
