From an ESPN Classic broadcast of the Hawks-Celtics [from New Orleans], March 12, 1985.

Hawks' play-by-play man, John Sterling:
“...Then Atlanta will be home Friday night, and that night might be a huge crowd as another one of the rap nights.  The first rap night against Cleveland sold out. Tickets are going quick for this game against Kansas City and RUN-DMC on rap night, hip-hop night on Friday the 22nd.
The Hawks will go with Randy Wittman and Doc Rivers in the backcourt, Dominique Wilkins, Scott Hastings, and Rickey Brown…”
Much of this is said over a visual of a large banner that reads:

GO LARRY AND CREW FROM TULANE’S BIRD’S NEST HI NEWTON.

The Hawks played a good number of home games in New Orleans during the early 1980s, as there were constant rumblings of relocation.
