Patterson did not suit up, what was the reason

Al Thornton deserves more than 3 minutes. What a joke! How is the kid ever going to develop by sitting on the pine? Are the Clippers so good that they can afford to keep the kid on the bench and delay his development? When would be a better time to play him? Could they be any worse with Al in the lineup rather than Ross? I didn't think so. Thornton can get schooled just as well as Ross can. The simple fact is that Ross would not be playing on any other team in the NBA.

In all 5 wins Thornton & Patterson played decent minutes. That's the difference.

Winning is not Dunleavy's goal. He'd rather play his petboys & get satisfaction from seeing Thornton & Patterson sitting on the bench.

Winning? Oh, no this is mere Clippers & they are not used to winning.

Something serious is going on behind the scene to keep Clippers success to minimum. But real victim of this vicious cycle is going to be AL THORNTON.

kirbs - patterson did suit up but did have a big ice pack wrapped to his back the entire game.

Maggette's post game consisted of him running directly underneath the basket (in the key) and waiting for the ball to be thrown in to him. Seemed to work well this game, why not try it more often?

It is becoming almost unbearable to watch.

The glimpses of excitement are few and far between. We've been relegated to campaigning for minutes for a rookie and for Ruben Patterson.

Scoreboard. Clips have lost 10 of 11. That is insane! NO team that is not a terrible team loses 10 of 11. Ever. Even with injuries, good teams find a way to grind it out and stay afloat.

There's not much positive to come out of yesterday's loss.

I'm tired of being an optimist, like talking about Maggette's great play, or Paul Davis' break-out game... or Time Thomas' 2 3-pointers late. Who give's a rat's ass? We keep believing, Clippers keep losing.

And with the style of play and the manner in which they are losing, it is really unwatchable basketball. Reminds me of a late season baseball game with 2 teams 12 1/2 games back in the standings...

Just depressing...

I disagree that it was unwatchable...in the first half the clippers executed their offense and passed the ball well, which was pretty to watch, and they were hitting their shots. The turnovers hurt them...the Heat attacked the entry pass to Kaman, which was a good plan by Riles. Riles also adjusted defensively at halftime and completely took Kaman out of the game (he isn't an all-star folks, sorry). Good counter move by Dunleavy to start feeding Maggette in the post. Then Wade did what he does. All in all a closely contested game that the Clips could have won, but they choked in the clutch and missed four or five layups. Oh well, it is the Clippers.

Some teams' fans find it okay to be "lovable losers". I'm sick and tired of it.

I remember a guy sitting behind me at the game yelled out, "Come on guys!, You're playing like the Clippers!"

Of course i chuckled, but wow...it says a lot about the state of things.

I really think it's time Elgin Baylor stepped aside and gave some new life into the organization. I'm not blaming him for everything, but change CANT hurt.

Dec 31st Clippers play the Twolves. They should just forget about the rest of the month and focus on that game.

Yeah, it's past time for Baylor to go. That goes without saying.

As far as being lovable losers, this team right now doesn't have a single legit all-star because of injuries. With Brand they have one. If Shaun could develop into an all-star PG, and they sign some shooters to help at the 2 and off the bench, this could be a consistent playoff team.

They have The Caveman. Im proud that he's stepped up, but he needs to work on stopping penetrating slashers with shot blocking ability. Like I said, worst loss of the season here. We stink out loud. Im embarassed that I claimed that the Clips would over achieve. Not even the great Sam I Am can motivate these guys. However, let's not blame Dunleavy, as he has coached great teams and taken them the distance before. Keep the coach, maybe the legend Elgin does need to step down.

ELGIN BAYLOR's loyalty rests with Lakers. He played for them & he'd never let Clippers overtake Lakers. He kept this team under his wrap for so long...it's unbelievable.

Any owner who has backbone would do something about it.

Lakers? Negative.
Milwaukee? Negative.
Portland? Negative.
Clippers? Again, negative, and no chance in hell given the looks of things since the first round series win in the 2006 Playoffs.

I'll give you that he's coached great teams (with both the Lakers and Portland) but not once have his team's achieved what they were capable of.

Picture a grumpy 78 year old Red Sox fan in 2003, the year before they won it for the first time in 80 some years.... sitting in front of a beat up old black and white tv in his tighty whitey underwear and waving his hands up in the air, pleading with himself,

"ehhhhhh.....what's the use?"

Thorton should play more minutes but I think that he was sat down because he couldn't defend. As for Maggette, this guy is a slasher and cannot be counted on as a jump shooter.
He makes difficult shots but also misses the most open of all shots. He only kind of makes his baskets at "random" if you know what I mean.

I hated watching that game vs. Miami because I thought that they were going to win. Sigh, they shouldn't have rallied in the fourth because I really though they were going to win.

Just got back from seeing Tool at Nokia (new place next to Staples) and the drummer (Danny Carey...sickest drummer ever) was sporting the Brand jersey. Nice touch.

Okay, okay, I'll admit "the distance" was a little off, but he has gotten to a championship game, and almost another that was *totally Scotty Pippen's fault* wink wink!!!!! But, either way, Dunleavy can coach anyone that the Clips could get right now. Unless Miami fires Pat Riley. That was a joke by the way.

I criticized Dunleavy many time. I must admit I was wrong. He can make players better if they are willing to learn.

Is this team cursed? On paper, this is a very good team if everyone is healthy.
On another note, why does the Clippers make so many careless mistakes, and shoot bad shots (Mobley is a ball hog!!! Stop shooting if your having a bad game!!!I hate you!!!AHHHHH!!!!!)? They should be better than this since they are the 3rd oldest team in the league.
Man oh man, this team makes you taste a lil bit of victory and gives you hope(05-06 season) only to put you back down again.
