Unfortunately, the Clips have managed to beat Memphis three times this year thus winning (or in this case losing)any tiebraker between the two.

"In the event that teams finish with the same record, each tied team receives the average of the total number of combinations for the positions that they occupy."

that's true however if we dont get into the top3 we would be picking after memphis anyway
