I take back everything bad I've ever said about Kelly Dwyer. Kelly, here's your formal apology. I'm glad to see you've come around on the Clips and have taken an active role in recognizing the blogging community as well.

Nice... haven't really weighed in recently on "sublimation" or "A Williams", but good stuff as always. Props to the SI article and I'm looking forward to oct/nov though not so much the curmudgeon..

I've been a Clippers fan since way back when they were in San Diego. I went my own ways in 1999 with basketball, but have followed from a distance. It was GREAT to see LAC finally turn things around (makes me wonder if Mr. Sterling no longer needs the losses the Clippers used to generate to offset his real estate gains but anyway....)

Great article by Kelly Dwyer, one of the better SI B-Ball columnists. I'd love to see the Clippers continue the success and win the Pacific this coming year. They've got a chance. I'll also keep checking out this blog - it's nice to know there are Clipper fans out there! Peace!

Some great recognition for the new Clippers and for you Kevin. And the fact that you voted Libertarian tells me again that you're an extremely thoughtful and intelligent person.

It's always entertaining to listen to Ralph Lawler and Michael Smith, especially when they joke about Smith's short lived NBA career as a top draft pick. Smith handles the jokes well and occassionally cracks a few on himself just to play along. The two has great basketball knowledge and hey, only a genius like Ralph can come up with Lawler's Law. Enough said.

As a Clipper season ticket holder I have had the joy of watching Maggette entertain us for years. I am saddened to hear all the trade rumors, but understand if he felt stung last season when he almost was traded for Artest. The guy didn't get much of a chance last year with all his injuries. No wonder his performance was volatile, he never got enough time to heal or practice and find his sweet spot. Every time he was on the floor he was fighting for his spot on the roster.

The kid has so much more game than he is being praised for. If he stays healthy next season he will be our 2-3 most valuable player. NO DOUBT!

Trading him for Mike Dunleavy jr. as rumored today would be a horrible trade. In my opinion as bad as Minnesota's trade for Jaric.

Hopefully the front office has enough wit to understand that offering an injured player for a trade hurts his ego when the trade fails. Coach and staff needs to fess up to Corey, admit they blew it, stop all these trade talks and get the guy back on in the locker room with a smile.

I think that getting Mike Jr., if nothing else, would complicate the chemistry of the entire ballclub, and Mike Sr.'s relationship with the other players. Every move involving Mike Jr. would be questioned and come under scrutiny. It's difficult to see anything positive coming out of it, Not imposible, just difficult.

What is going on with the 2003 34th pick of the Clippers (Sofoklis Schortsanitis)? Isn't this the guy who demolished the U.S. National Team a few days ago? Do the Clippers still have rights to him and is there a good chance he would join the Clippers?

Some things to think about...

1. If you've seen the recent NFL preview edition of SI, there are 4-5 blogs that are listed on each team page. The readers are asked to vote for the best blog. That blog will be listed on the team's page on SI.com. I'm hoping they do the same for the NBA, in which case, I say we start a serious campaign to have everyone vote for clipperblog.com. Although, clipperblog has done very well on its own, in terms of exposure. Congrats!

2. ESPN AM 710 is now the official broadcast station of the LA Clippers. Pretty sweet! No more political rambling for pre and post game talk, just sports.

3. What happened to the clipperblog get-together? Preseason or opening day event?

Great to see Ralph getting some pub. His revelry in the irony inherent in all things Clipper is one of the things that drew me to the Clips.

Now that the season is ready to get started I'm hoping the Clips will stay on the road to success. We've been disappointed before but we never had a team like this. I'm not so sure that Livingston is the answer to all our prayers. There are point guards with less NBA experience who have had more of an impact i.e. Chris Paul. We need to keep Kaman (a top five center) as well as Livingston, who may be the future, but we cannot contract ourselves into financial jail like the Lakers have done. I think we need to find a way to trade Mobley's contract for draft choices to make way for the dollars to go to at the very least Kaman. After that Cassell will retire and there will be more money for Livingston. Let's hope Elgin and the Donald find a way to keep the nucleus and remain a playoff franchise.

Rudy Gay certainly has a lot of upside, but the Memphis trade seems crazy to me. Shane Battier (a six pick) has done nothing but play hard and contribute every night for four years and now he's being traded for a number eight pick?! Okay, I'm Duke biased, but still.
