Just ridiculous that the Clippers would sign a guy like Parker. For what exactly? I have had about enough of the management of this team. They make stupid decision after stupid decision. If not for EB and Corey and maybe Thornton there is no way in hell that I would remotely be interested in this team.

That signing just cemented my decision to leave this sorry ass team behind. Goddamn it though it's hard!! Love EB, Thornton, even f*cking Livingston. But it is hard to keep rooting for a team that does stupid shit like this constantly. Even if he's signed just for the rest of the year, it makes me sick. Ugh.

Clipper have 3 tough games ahead all against teams under .500. Hopefully Parker and miss a lot of shots and turn the ball over. Hope he plays on friday.

The draft pick doesn't f'ing matter. There is no clear number 1 or number 2 or whatever. You can get as good a player at 10 as at 1 almost every year.

Smush isn't going to help them sell seats and he isn't going to help them lose either (not that that would ever be something to aspire to), they do that just fine as it is now. He's just another poor character guy that they have no business signing. Kinda like Patterson. Why did they let Cassell go if they were concerned about selling tickets?

The Clips had to let Sam go...the Clips season has been over for a long ass time, and he and EB share the same agent. Facing a pending negotiation with EB and David Falk this Summer, there was no need to start that off on the wrong foot. Plus ethically it was the right thing to do as the Clips had nothing to play for, and Sam only has a little bit left and wanted to make a run at another title. It's the Clips management that people should be pissed at for not addressing the PG or PF positions in the off-season, not Sam.

With regards to Smush, nobody is better for the opponent's fast break and overall scoring efforts than Smush. I see this as a move to ensure as many ping pong balls as possible. Where the Clips pick this Summer does matter, and the more ping pong balls the better at this point.

For the tanking theorists, here are the facts:

The Clippers have 21 wins, which is 6th worst in the NBA. Of the 5 teams doing worse, only the Knicks have a realistic chance of reaching 21 wins -- they have 19 with 17 to play. Seattle has 16, Memphis has 15, Minnesota has 14 and Miami has 11. In front of the Clippers, Milwaukee has 23 wins and Charlotte has 24. This means the Clippers are solidly entrenched in the range of picking #5-#8 if the lottery holds form.

Here are the odds of winning the lottery from each spot:
5th = 8.8%
6th = 6.3%
7th = 4.3%
8th = 2.8%

Because there is relatively little to gain by possibly moving to the 5th spot and little to lose by finishing 7th, there is no great incentive to tank. The incentive is further reduced when, as is widely acknowleged about the 2008 draft,there is a significant dropoff after Beasley and Rose.

The Clippers will be looking at Bayless, Mayo, Gordon, Augustin and Westbrook for possible backcourt picks in the 5-8 range or below if teams move up in the lottery. They have to go backcourt if they think the team will be Kaman-Brand-Thornton up front.

The Clips have been unintentionally tanking for much of the season, and it's in their best interests to continue that trend rather than win a bunch of games at the end and end up picking 10-12. That would ruin all the hard work w/ losing all those games early on that killed the season.

This is the worst year every for the Clippers at the Staples Center averaging 16,500. They said 17.8 showed up on Saturday, but it was about 1/2 filled.
