Dunleavy's relationship with Corey turned bad last year when he complained to the media about not wanting to come of the bench (almost being traded for Artest didn't help). As a starter for Dunleavy, he hit 20.7 ppg in 73 starts (03-04) and 22.2 ppg through 60 starts (04-05). There was no tension at the time, so he got to start, and he produced.
Unfortuantely, Corey got hurt early the next season after rolling his foot off of a badly positioned teammate (thanks a lot, Weezy). The team was playoff bound by the time he healed, so he came off the bench, as to not disrupt chemistry.
Corey eventually volunteered to be sixth man this season as long as he still got minutes. Maggette kept his word (15.2ppg 5.7 boards), Dunleavy didn't (27.3).

Dunceleavy's a moron...for four years his came coaching has been atrocious. We all believe Q.Ross is a good defensive player because The Dunce has told us that. Name one scorer who he has shut down. They told us. Q.Richardson couldn't play D, now in NY they rave about his D. It's all BS. Ross sucks...he is the prototypical NBA 8th-9th man, not a starter. Especially when it leads to what is now an unfixable situation with Maggette.
Kaman and Shaun, little to no growth, how does the coaching staff not get blamed for that! Why is Doug Christie getting minutes? For 3 months he couldn't get a job, now he is in our rotation!
This season's output is the exact situation when a coach gets fired, instead he reups for 4 years. He was a lousy player, a mediocre coach...let's not forget that he blew a 15 point lead in a game 7 with 7 minutes to go and let's not forget that he is the worst dresser of all-time.
Coaching staff, Kaman slow developing, his pvt. coach:Kim Hughes, arguably the worst player in NBA history. Andrew Bynum meteroic development, his pvt. coach: Kareem. Coincedence?
All ticket holders bring Fire Mike signs on 2/14.

Boots - to be fair... we have personnel who can fill needs Corey can (in theory), and not so much with Kaman... but I hear you. I'm not sure what Sterling is thinking right now (he's not a stupid guy) but if this keeps up his Dunleavy extension is gonna look way worse than Kaman's.

Really weird time to bitch about Kaman and Shaun. Kaman was pretty brilliant on both ends and Shaun was clutch on offense as well as crucial in removing korver from the game in the 4th.
What those guys do though...its not based on brute force. Watching Shaun chase Korver. Wow. Corey can only wish he thought about the game on that level.
I could name all the scorers Q has shut down, but it would be rude to spam Clipperblog thusly.

Wow, I guess Nash is the MVP. The Suns, minus Nash, are about to lose at home to the Hawks!

thank you, John. Totally agree. Livingston and Ross excel play the game with their brains, and not just athletic ability.
How about Shaun's 2nd Quadruple 4 (or should we call it a quadruple/quadruple?) in a week.
Kaman still let his guy grab 15 rebounds, and the Sixers had 14 offensive rebounds, which is bad. Kaman has yet to outplay the opposing center in 2007.
EB only had 12 points, which is strange.
Hey don't worry, Q Ross haters, Dunleavy has a new favorite toy in Doug Christie.
Cassell haters must respect his effort tonight.
But this was an ugly win vs. an ugly team.

Q Ross plays with smarts, I will give you that. However, is starting him really essential to the team's success? By simply starting Maggette in his place the team would lose some of the distracting tension between Maggette and Dunleavy. Q is better suited to spot defensive duty. He is not an NBA starter.

If you're a defender chasing around a shooting guard, it's exceedingly difficult to get past a Tim Thomas screen. With Phoenix in the postseason, we saw how seemingly every possession for the Suns started with a Thomas high S/R, followed by either a fade or a dive/drag toward the basket. It's more effective in a frenetic offense, but the Clips don't use him enough [or he doesn't take enough initiative...who knows anymore?] on the strong side. Instead, the Clippers rely on this popular [and increasingly antiquated] notion that somehow, if Thomas stands out on the arc, he'll effectively "spread the floor," as if his defender can't sag if Cassell has dribbled to the far left corner -- where he traditionally likes to back down his defender --- or even if Elton has the ball in the low post against a much larger defender over whom he can't zip a pass out to the far side perimeter.

maggette turns the ball over, and he gets benched...kaman turns the ball over, and dunleavy makes excuses for him...
maggette takes an ill-advised shot, and he gets to sit...kaman airballs a shot, and according to dunleavy, kaman just needs his confidence back...
maggette fails to rotate on defense, he gets benched...kaman gets schooled by almost every single opposing center, and dunleavy is quick to defend kaman and his atrocious defense...
i really don't understand dunleavy's hate for maggette...maybe he is pissed off that management didn't let him trade for his shitty son, and he is taking his anger out on maggette...dumbassleavy is one stubborn moron...that piece of shit...
maggette manufactures points when shots aren't falling for the team, whereas kaman literally gives posessions away...maggette has been playing decent defense, and kaman has recently made average opposing centers look like fucking hall of famers...maggette turns the ball over, but not as much as kaman, who for some reason drops enrty passes that could lead to easy layups...at least once a game he does this...
why does he let things slide with kaman, but not with maggette???
dumbassleavy is really starting to piss me the fuck off...
