We MUST lose tonight.... we cant let Minnesota open up this kind of a gap on us for the worst record. It's just like the Clippers to let me down and open up a 3 or 4 game winning streak tonight.

Things to look forward to:

The all-star bid:

Kaman will have to put up even bigger numbers than he has to make a push at the all-star team. The coaches will no doubt give the benefit of the doubt to Stoudemire, because he dominated Chris last week, and because he plays on a good team. Also, the coaches love to stick it to the clippers (elton brand 6 years running).

The Showcase: Maggette and Cassell.. if management had ANY sense, they are showcasing these two for potential trades. Cassell is a beast in the clutch (still) and Maggs can get you a garbage 15 points on a good team.

The Development:

Thornton has played well, and i think he'll only get better. Worse case is he replaces Maggs as a starter. He is def more of a basketball player than Maggs, although he has a lot to learn. This is the PERFECT situation for a rookie learning the ropes.

The degeneration of Mobley:

Remember the first 4 games? Mobley was shooting like 80%. Now, he has been relegated to shooting Maggette like shots (bad shots early in the shot clock that dont have prayers of going in). What happened? Injuries--Shminjuries. It was worth signing him a few years ago, but now we're going to have to eat it in the last 2 years of his bad contract. (ditto tim thomas).

The Hope:

That EB and Shaun will come back this year. Personally, i'd rather them take the year off...and tank ala the san antonio spurs in the duncan year. There are some EXCELLENT players in the top 3 draft slots this year. I want one of them.

The depression:

Going to games is not the same anymore. Like the guy in American Me said, "there's no fuckin' hope, chico". Or i can go Shawshank on your ass and start quoting Andy Dufresne... but alas, we are dead in the water. After a roller coaster ride these last 7 years, this is my hope diary:

2001: Sky is the Limit
2002: Free agency kills chemistry
2003: I hate myself for believing
2004: Why would i believe?
2005: We did it! (Raja fucking Bell)
2006: Back to reality
2007: Kill me now

I think i'm going to defect and be an LA SPARKS fan... at least you get to see some lesbians.

A very average team beat a very bad team, albeit both with injuries
