Latino Appreciation Night?

Since when did the Clippers become a racially provoked organization? Are you now social activists? This is not why we bought our season tickets...

Did you have a Native American appreciation night? An African-American appreciation night? Or how about European-American appreciation night?

Or maybe you can ask Donald Sterling to have a Asian appreciation night... Oh, by the way, did the Department of Justice finish its housing descrimination investigation?

Or how about an AMERICAN appreciation night?

Did you advertise special appreciation nights for American servicemen? Or policemen? or border patrol agents? Why not celebrate the people protecting our country?

Or are the Clippers just a racially motivated organization who feel the need to "appreciate" one section of our multicultural society?

We have started the "Clipper Nation," right? Why don't we start a nation that does not segregate people based on their ethnic origins?

I feel that my allegance to the Clipper Nation was based on basketball. Lets keep it that way.

The promotional event to which you refer is a service to its sponsor, Union Bank. Union Bank, as a company and an employer in Southern California, devotes a massive amount of its corporate attention to the Latino community. And as the sponsor of the event in question, it is their choice as to its focus. Because we are good partners, we work with all of our sponsors to ensure that their events support the initiatives which are important to them.



We do this to be inclusive. Honoring one ethnic group does not require us to neglect any and/or all others. During my time here, many of our events have highlighted many different ethnic groups. We exclude no one.



We are not, as you say “a racially provoked” organization – and I’m not really 100% sure what you mean by that.



However, in addition to being a professional basketball organization, we are very much “socially active”. And we’re very proud of that activity which results in the good that we do through the Los Angeles Clippers Foundation and its mission. Across the board in this community, we do more than any team in the NBA and more than any team in Los Angeles in the areas of youth development and educational initiatives. Can I just say that I love that we have a VP named Joe Safety? Who are we hiring next? Bill Hazard?

Speaking of new hirings, I may not be the biggest Jason Hart fan, but he wasn't completely miserable tonight. HOWEVER - Dunleavy's Hart-Ewing backcourt experiment needs to die a swift and painful death.

Remember, Dunleavy: The road to mediocrity is paved with Hart-Ewing backcourts.

Asian appreciation night was last week. didn't you notice the half-time dance show with all asian kids, with the exception of one white red-head kid.

anyways, Kaman sucks. Who cares if he can have a good defensive night if he can't make a lay-up. His offensive IQ must be negative. Sadly, Elton's game has been struggling, but he'll pick it up, Kaman has been struggling all year. I guess that's what 52 million gets you.

On the plus side, Q Ross played great with his steals, too bad he seems to have found his way into Dunleavy's dog house as of late (then again, he's another one of our incredible offensive threats we have on the team, right?)

What's new? Clippers get no respect and a top team like the Spurs do. It stinks, but that's the reality of the NBA. Has been. Will always be.

hey dave, mobley/singleton for rashard would be a great trade for us...one question though, why in the world would the sonics make that trade??? even if he were to resign somewhere else, it would be more caproom for them...mobley has one of the owrst contracts in the league...

Agree. But Sonics are going to lose him anyway. Adding Mobley & Singleton would negate that loss. Yes, he may not re-sign with Clips.

Sonics are not in the drivers seat on this one. They lost him already. They got better deal out of Wilcox-Radman trade.

If we can play this good, we can be that hard to beat team just by adding a top tier scorer.

Meanwhile, let's not forget Korolev. He's only 19.

On paper, Sonics have a star studded team(Allen-Lewis-Wilcox). But they are not even as good as Clippers. Wondering why?

We would appreciate our team more if we look at the teams with stars struggling to stay afloot.

koroloev hopefully won't be coming back to the clippers, especially since they didn't pick up the option on him and he could be gone after this season. one of the worst draft picks ever, and that's coming from a team that picked Bo Kimble, Randy Woods and even a #1 bomb in the Kandi-man.

Too early to give up on Korolev. Except for Maggette outburst, Clippers have been extremely disciplined about revealing their inner workings. Who knows, he might be the ONE to replace Mobley when he turns 20. Hopefully Livingston will return by then.

just read a really funny book called “Foul Lines,” by SI hoops writers Jack McCallum and Jon Wertheimer, and I thought my fellow Clips fans would enjoy it.
