at worst, this team will be a lot of fun to watch... great young athletes who can fly and finish on the break...

Just having Azubuike, Thornton, Gordon and B Davis makes the team watchable again.

With Camby and Kaman blocking shots and rebounding like it's going out of style... you're talking fast break basketball. Something we havent had since the days of... well never. The only dunkers we've had in the last few years were wilcox, darius miles...and ummm that's it.

I think the next step is securing another Big to back up camby and kaman.

The Warriors have added Maurice Evans, who is a very similar player to Azubuike, and point guard Marcus Williams... They seem to have everything but a back-up big, so Azubuike isn't going back.. The only way signing Evans makes sense is in two scenarios... 1) They are planning to resign Azubuike so they can trade him for a back-up big. 2) 6 mil is okay for a back-up swing, but 9 isn't, so they simply plan to let him walk.

Considering the fact that Brand's decision was out of our hands, and Maggette depended on him, I give us an A this offseason so far. We've been making good moves quickly to make up for lost talent, and considering what was available, Dunleavy and Baylor have done an incredible job finding and acquiring as much talent as they have so far.

Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, and Kelenna Azubuike all within the matter of a few weeks time? That's impressive. And that's not even counting the draft.

Wow, I think we have a really solid deep team, deeper than most people give us credit for. I'd say our moves this summer our over, and we can now concentrate on teamwork and playing together.

With Gordon able to play the 1 or 2, and Azubuike being able to play the 2 or 3, and Thomas the 3 or 4, and Powell the 4 or 5, I think we have a really deep team. Finally our 2nd unit will have some scoring punch. Who needs Q Ross. I'd give the 13th roster spot to Paul Davis just for sentimentality, but dude injured himself so an injured back-up center aint the best back-up option.

GS has the right to match until Friday...and i'm sure they'll wait and let the deadline pass. There is no reason for them to do it earlier unless they need to renounce Azibuike to sign Evans.

I thought it was a 7 day window? Or is that from the day Azu actually signed the offer sheet? I can't wait until Friday! The suspense is killing me. Don't want to get excited about it until it happens.

As far as Azubuike is concerned, we have to wait 7 days after the original team receives the paperwork. Clippers would have sent it overnight Thursday, meaning Warriors receive it Friday. We can officially sign him Friday.

By adding Evans, it means the Warriors would not match the three-year, $9 million contract restricted free agent Kelenna Azubuike signed with the Los Angeles Clippers last week. The Warriors had until Friday to match Azubuike's deal, but Evans represents a cheaper alternative.

Evans was a Laker and Magic last year. He is an athletic, 6-5 swingman who plays solid defense and can knock down the three-point shot.

Jason Hart doesn't have a better Ast/To ratio, nowhere near the same number of steals nor points than Brevin Knight did last year. Is this a salary dump?

look at how the clips are TRYING to help the team this season. instead of just sitting around on their behinds, they brought in camby, davis, hart, and we got two rookies ready to play. i mean, this is completely different - it is better than having brand or maggs because we needed a change. brand would not have gotten us anywhere with him NOT wanting to be here! now we add azubuike at the end of the week and i mean, this team is exciting to watch agree?

I thought Knight was a decent sub, but he always seemed a bit injury prone to me.

I'm actually excited that Jason is coming back to LA. I remember the season we picked him up during the season, and I distinctly remembering him ALMOST leading the Clips to the post season that year (06/07), and was actually upset that he signed with the Jazz in the first place.

I think, and I could be totally wrong, but wasn't his first game as a Clip against the Kings (a team that he was traded from)? And didn't he light it up that game? I also remember him making a couple big plays and a game winning shot when the team was hunting for the 8th seed...

Whatever, I'm happy with the trade.

This Jason Hart thing is confusing. He makes more money, but puts up lower numbers. We missed him that much? I used to watch him at Syracuse and he was pretty mediocre then. I don't know what he's still doing in the league.

Uhm, I'm not sure about this trade, but OK, works for me. Jason is from LA and played well with us when he was on the team. I'm hoping he's taller, know he's a better shooter than Brevin. Not sure if this really changes anything, but it's cool. Hart had some playoff experience last season and Knight didn't, so why not!

Does the adding of a bigger salary have anything to do with anything, or am I looking into something that isn't there? Cause they both come off the books next year, Hart just gets more money.

Does anyone else think the Hart-Knight trade is a sign MD is serious about going up-tempo next season? I don't have any stats to back it up, but Hart seems more suited to a faster pace than Knight. And while Hart makes a little more this season, he still comes off the books next summer.

Knight ranked second in the NBA in assists-per-turnover (4.62), and third in steals per turnover (2.87). And Hart's salary is larger. What happened here?

Knight's numbers are superior to Jason Hart's numbers. Hart's numbers suffered when Ronnie Price took over the back-up PG spot, so his numbers are somewhat mis-leading. Similarly, Knight put up slightly higher numbers in an otherwise disastrous season for the team. Hart makes an extra $500K, which is huge in real life but negligible in basketball terms. Hart has also shown himself to be a capable spot starter under Dunleavy. Brevin Knight has been servicable as a Clipper but he's 5'10, injury-prone and can't hit a jumpshot. I'm much more comfortable having Jason Hart spelling Baron Davis.

I think this is just an insurance policy.

If we do pick up Azubuike, then we only lose a slightly better back up. Not a real loss. Hart has his upsides though.

I like the Hart acquisition. Remember how he more than picked up the slack at the end of 06/07 season after Livingston went down? In many ways, he was even better than Shaun (i.e. a threat to actually shoot—and even make—an open outside jumper). I liked Brevin, but he's way too small and almost on Q-Ross' level offensively. Hart makes us younger and can knock down a trey here and there.

Does this close the door on re-signing Livingston? Since we still have his Bird Rights, might he still come back to be a possible third-stringer? I dunno... I'm inclined to just let the guy walk. He has tons of potential, but I just haven't been a huge fan of his. Shaun was always far too timid and you need the heart of a lion to be a big-time point guard in the NBA. When I read somewhere that he flew someone in every two weeks to get his hair braided, I was like this guy is a pansy. Sorry Livingston fans, the guy just hasn't gotten it done in any way, shape or form and he's had all the opportunity in the world.

Hart is a much better back up than Knight. He's a taller defender and more physical. Knight was hurt by too many good pg's in the West.

Hart is actually a better spot up shooter than Knight (who is embarrassingly bad for a 10 year veteran).

I like it. Hart is a hustler.

That's the thing, Knight puts up nice numbers, but really doesn't have much impact.

We saw what Jason Hart could do when he was a Clipper. He helped keep us afloat. Has good size for a PG and a better J than Brevin. 6'3" vs. 5'10"? No contest.

I'm scratching my head too. What you need in a backup PG IMO is a steady, unspectacular player who won't turn the ball over and will play some D. While Brevin is never gonna blow by anyone into the lane, or make people respect his 20 foot jumper, he does all of the above well and is a solid back-up.

Re Maurice Evans backing out of the GS deal: What do you expect from a guy who'd take a shot at ripping Kaman's family jewels off in the middle of a game? Even back-stabbing EB never tried to sexually molest the Caveman as far as I know!
