Preserving the Loy Vaught legacy...

- Remember when the 2005-2006 campaign was referred to as the "Rudy Gay Sweepstakes"? Now he's that guy - the one sitting in the green room waiting for his name to be called.
- Battier to Houston for the relieved-to-picked Gay. I guess the plan is to move McGrady to the off-guard and let Battier defend the better wing players. The ESPN cabal hates the trade; I think it makes sense for the Rockets. Van Gundy prides himself on wing defenders and this works for his scheme. Likewise, Memphis desperately needs some fire power and Memphis gets that in Rudy.
- Is the Adonal Foyle experiment in Oakland over? I love the euphemism "project" - that's what we heard in Atlanta for years re: John Koncak. Then again, that's what we heard about Chris Kaman. Every center, save Shaq, was a project. So was the Los Angeles subway and the Big Dig.
- J.J. vs. DeShawn Stevenson at the SG. Works for me. Can he create his own shot and fight his way through some brutal screens? Can he find the open space off the double team? To be continued...
