Dissecting the Side-Screen Roll Since 2006

Denver 113, Clippers 103

Early on, the Clippers show they have the capacity to play quality basketball.  They take their first lead at [1st, 4:36] when Baron Davis throws it into the post for Chris Kaman against Birdman Andersen.  Kaman hasn’t done a lot right offensively to start the season, but when he sees Kenyon Martin slide over to help Andersen, Chris lasers a pass through the double-team to a diving Tim Thomas for an easy 2.  It’s a beautiful set, with great recognition all the way around.

  • Ramona Shelburne gets to the bottom of Marcus Camby’s bruised heel.   Camby is doubtful for tonight’s game.
  • Al Thornton lost sleep over the Clippers’ lackluster performance Wednesday night.
  • Carmelo Anthony will sit out tonight’s game at Staples, as he serves out his 2-game suspension for a DUI.  His replacement?  Linas Kleiza.  The last time the Clips faced Denver, Kleiza torched them off the bench for 15 on 7-11 shooting.  Thornton will have to be quicker on the rotation tonight.
