Before each home game this season, ClipperBlog will run “ClipperBlog Eats,” a restaurant recommendation from its resident restaurant reviewer, Ben Mesirow. Below is today’s suggestion:
Grand Central Market
Like the recently upgraded Clippers, Grand Central Market has seen a revolution over the last few years. It was lovable before, but now it is a true gastronomic force to be reckoned with in the LA food scene. There are plenty of outstanding options in the market, so your entire group will eat happily whether you stop on your way to the game or swing by afterwards.
If you’re feeling breakfasty pre-game there are the killer sausage and egg sandwiches at Egg Slut, the sublime bagel & lox at Wexler’s, and the excellent coffee at G&B. If lunch is more your speed, then there are the bright, interesting rice plates at Sticky Rice, the tacos at Tumbras a Tomas are outstanding, and Wexler’s also happens to make one of the very best pastrami sandwiches in the city, salty and smoky, cut thick like fine brisket instead of shaved like cold cuts. Come early, come late… hell, you should probably do both.
