The Los Angeles Clippers hosted six prospects for pre-Draft workouts on June 1, 2016: North Carolina State PG Anthony “Cat” Barber (Jr.), California PG Tyrone Wallace (Sr.), Saint Joseph’s SG DeAndre Bembry (Jr.), Connecticut SG Daniel Hamilton (So.), Notre Dame PF Zach Auguste (Sr.), and Rouen (LNB Pro A/France) PF Guerschon Yabusele (Age 20).
The Clippers have the 25th and 33rd picks in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Now Cole has opted out.
So Cole, A. Rivers, and Crawford we don’t know if they’re coming back.
I agree that the Austin Rivers situation could go either way. Either it’s a good thing because he goes somewhere else or it’s a bad thing because his dad signs him to a long term deal that way overpays him.
His dad certainly is capable of doing that. Terrible judgment obviously has not stopped Dad Rivers from doing anything in the three years he’s been running things here.
The best thing for everybody is that son Rivers goes somewhere else. Then he has some freedom to develop on his own and won’t be labeled “daddy’s boy” and Dad Rivers won’t be open to a huge amount of criticism for signing his son, who is a bad shooting guard and an even worse point guard, to a staggeringly inappropriate contract.
Ballmer has to step in and stop the signing. Ballmer should simply step in and get rid of GM Rivers before this has a chance to happen.
Clippers have no money to spend. They can get plays at min salary, or they could trade DeAndre.
It doesn’t look Doc is going to do that, so Clippers are forced to overpay for A Rivers.
I’m guessing A Rivers signs long term for $8mil a year and then they sign Green for $10mil a year.
Oh and Wes Johnson is gone too.
