The Clippers used a 54-23 run to turn a 13-point Celtics lead late in the 3rd quarter to an 18-point Clippers lead with 3:30 left in the 4th quarter. LA held on to win 116-102 behind 26 points from PF Blake Griffin, 23 points from PG Chris Paul, and 19 points from G Jamal Crawford.
This also marked the last time Paul Pierce (DNP-CD) faced the Celtics.
Well, yes the Clippers overwhelmed the Celtics late in the game. But that’s probably not an indication the Clippers finally have it together.
The Celtics were on East coast time and that means 10:00 PM here is 1:00 AM for their body clocks. Plus they were in a second of a back to back. So my guess is that’s why the Celtics faded at the end.
I’m still going to give the Clippers another week or so and then we should know if they finally have it back together.
The Minnesota game was so bad I’m going to assume it was just a fluke. They can’t be that bad. Rebounding obviously is a big problem (36-50), and obviously the bench is a big problem. But the team can’t be this bad. It just can’t be.
